About Me

I am an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology, a licensed clinical psychologist, and a neuropsychologist in Austin, TX (licensed in Texas, and licensed to provide telehealth services in Florida). I have 20 years of clinical and research experience, including 4 years as a fellow at the Department of Psychiatry's Center for OCD and Related Disorders (CORD) at Harvard Medical School and Mass General Hospital, where I remain affiliated. I also taught at Harvard University and Harvard University Extension School. I was formerly a tenured Associate Professor and the Director of the Neuropsychology and Psychopathology Lab at Texas State University's Department of Psychology for 10 years. I am currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin.

I have broad experience in the treatment and neuropsychological assessments in a variety of populations, ages 15-90, with specific expertise in the treatment of OCD, perfectionism, anxiety disorders, ADHD, parent training, and couples therapy. In addition, I have extensive experience in clinical and neuropsychological assessments for ADHD ('ADHD testing'), differentiating OCD and anxiety disorders from ADHD, dementia, mild cognitive impairment, as well as complex psychiatric/neurological cases involving clinical and neurocognitive aspects.

-
I have devoted my career to the study of the interaction between neuropsychology and mental health symptoms and disorders. That is, I have been studying how psychological disorders (particularly ADHD, OCD, and anxiety disorders) and symptoms interact with cognitive function (such as attention, memory, or executive function). For example, my work has demonstrated the cognitive ‘price’ of intrusive and obsessive thoughts.
-
I am an internationally recognized authority on the diagnosis of co-occurrence and differential diagnosis of ADHD and OCD (or anxiety) and have published extensively on the issue, including international clinical guidelines to address this issue. I also function as an International OCD Foundation's Subject Matter Expert on OCD-ADHD comorbidity.
-
I co-founded Focus, the largest adult ADHD center in Israel, where I served as Chief Neuropsychologist and Director of Psychological Services.
-
I have published over 70 peer-reviewed scientific papers and book chapters, and regularly present my findings at professional conferences and invited talks in the US and Europe.
